Zinc Electroplating
Lone Star’s zinc electroplating line provides quick turnaround
and cost effectiveness for
your plated bolt requirements. Our electroplating line is compliant
to ASTM B 633 SC-2 Type-3 Conversion standards,
and utilizes a revolutionary
clear trivalent chromate conversion coating, allowing Lone Star
to increase performance and production,
while maintaining employee
safety and remaining compliant to environmental requirements. (This
includes the European Directives RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous
Substances) and ELV (End of Life Vehicle), which became binding
in Europe in July of 2006, and adopted in the state of California
in January 2007).
Our
zinc plating process, with clear trivalent conversion,
offers:
- Hexavalent Chrome Free processing eliminates the toxic chemicals
found in yellow chromate.
- Excellent Corrosion Resistance—Exceeding that of yellow chromate, and achieving 200-400 hours to white corrosion in ASTM B-117 Salt Spray.
- Increased Temperature Tolerance to 300º-400º F for
many hours with no effect on corrosion resistance or color.
- Cost Effective - This new clear chromate costs no more than yellow chromate.
- Torque and Tension Fluid - Lone Star adds an additional topcoat
solution to add lubricity
at no cost to our customers.
Our Standard zinc plating specification is ASTM B 633 SC-2 Type-3 Conversion
